ADC Live Presents: Classical guitarist Gabriel Fuentes

Gabriel Angel Fuentes began playing music at the age of 5.  He began his studies on the piano and moved on to guitar around the age of 8.  Guitar came naturally, and has been his principal instrument since then.  Classical guitar studies started promptly and by the age of 12 began to play for the National Institute of Flamenco as accompaniment.  Flamenco guitar brought out new techniques he hadn’t experimented with and began using tapping techniques as well with the newly forged styles.  Jazz was always a big part of his life so he implemented many more chords and phrasing that could be called gypsy of sorts.
