Join us for the opening reception of "Asarco: End of an Era" Friday, May 3 from 6 pm-8 pm. This event, sponsored by the Sunland Park Art Gallery, the Plein Air Painters of El Paso and Ardovino's Desert Crossing, is an artistic remembrance of the Stacks. Painting, drawings, photographs, jewelry, prints and cards will all be available for purchase. Participating artists will also be present. Capstone Productions will be screening video excerpts from the documentary Last Tour of the El Paso Smelter by Jackson Polk. Hamilton Underwood, former Asarco engineer, will be signing his book My Memories of Asarco, and signed copies of Smeltertown...Making & Remembering a Southwest Border Community by Monica Perales will also be on sale. The show continues until May 25.

Ardovino’s Desert Crossing will host its annual Mother's Day Brunch Buffet, Sunday, May 12, 10 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. The buffet will feature made-to-order omelets, a waffle station and carved meats to include prime rib, leg of lamb and house-smoked pork. Also enjoy an antipasti bar, fresh salads, local vegetables and great desserts. We will not be open for dinner on this evening. Reservations (with a credit card number) are required.

12th Annual Farmers Market Opening

The 12th Annual Farmers Market at Ardovino‘s Desert Crossing opens Saturday, May 25, from 7:30am-12pm and every Saturday after till October. Every week enjoy an ever-increasing selection of organic and pesticide-free vegetables, along with native plants for home and yard, fresh-baked breads, salsas and more. Enjoy a fair trade cup of coffee, house-made pastries and fresh-squeezed juices out of our vintage Coffeestream trailer, which opens at 7 am.
